Privacy policy
What AROV keeps, and where.
Last updated 30 October 2026
Who makes AROV
AROV is made by Mahur Uslu, an independent developer. Questions about this policy or your data go to support@arov.app.
What stays on your phone
While you ride, AROV reads the phone's location and motion sensors many times a second to work out your speed and lean angle. That raw sensor stream is processed on the phone and is never uploaded.
Ride watch, the feature that notices a ride you forgot to start, also runs on the phone. It looks at your location in the background only to decide whether to ask you, and sends nothing anywhere while it does.
What goes to your account
AROV needs an account, and the account is where your data is kept so it survives a new phone. It holds:
- Your email address, to send you sign-in codes. AROV has no passwords.
- Your profile: the username you choose and, if you add one, a profile photo.
- Your garage: motorcycles, odometer readings, fuel fill-ups and maintenance.
- Your rides: when they happened, distance, speeds, lean angles, corners and the route you rode. This includes where each ride started and ended. Only you can see these.
- Plans: routes, tours and saved places.
What other riders can see
Nothing you record is public unless you choose to share it.
- Shared rides. After each ride AROV asks whether to share it, and the answer starts at no. A shared ride leaves out the first and last 500 m, so it does not show where you started or finished.
- Live position. Sent only while you record and only when a rider you chose, or a group ride you joined, can see it. It also starts 500 m from where you set off, and it is taken down when you stop.
- Photos on shared rides. AROV removes the location and camera details from a photo before uploading it.
- Crews, the forum, road notes and comments are visible to the riders they are meant for, under your username.
Services AROV uses
- Supabase stores your account and the data above, on servers in Frankfurt, Germany.
- Resend sends the sign-in emails from servers in Ireland, so it receives your email address.
- Mapbox draws the maps, searches places and plans routes. To do that it receives the map area on screen and the places or route points you search for.
- Apple delivers the app's notifications. AROV's reminders are scheduled on the phone itself.
AROV has no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and it does not sell or share your data with anyone else.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account in the app: in Settings, open your account and tap Delete account. That removes your profile, garage, rides, shared rides, photos and everything else listed here from AROV's servers. It cannot be undone.
Children
AROV is meant for people who ride motorcycles and is not aimed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
